April 10th Another Classroom and more memories

We woke up today with the classroom visit on the schedule. We had no idea what would happen or what we would do. We arrived at the Dong Shin Elementary School early and went to a nearby coffee shop. While having coffee, the interpreter Ms Min walked in so we were not alone in this. After walking all around the school, we met teacher Shin at the school gate and he walked us over to the classroom. From that moment, it was like we knew these students for a long time. Now remember that they are here on their day off because of the National elections today.

I really can't begin to describe what happened during that almost 2 hour session. We gave our brief history from first being in Korea and then how Korea stayed with us after we went back to Korea. They asked us questions about the differences then and now in Korea and the differences now between Korea and the USA today. But it was the ambiance that was in that room between all of us that is impossible to describe. And I must say that the Interpreter Ms Min really made the exchange of ideas more easily.

So here are some pictures taken from that morning. Did I say that Korean students are the greatest.

Opening the little gifts we had brought representative of where we live.

After a long train ride back to Seoul (where we saw parts of the new Korea we had not seen on this trip) we went to the local market where we had a marvelous dinner.

Our dinner.

A good night to everyone
