April 1st. A Beautiful Day for Temples

Today we go to Buddhist Temples. One close and one not so close. The first one is in downtown Seoul called Jogyesa Temple. All Temples are getting ready for Buddhas birthday so lots of lanterns are being hung up. Unfortunately, I missed taking photos of Jogyesa. Will try to get some of Gary's tomorrow. Here is what I have.

Lanterns reflected in a water feature.

We next had a great meal just across the street.

Gary and Tripp enjoying Pork Cutlets.

We then took along bus ride to what I thought was a temple Mary Ann and I used to go to in the mountains above Seoul. Surprise. It was a temple we had never been to. Again preparing for Buddha's Birthday.

The entrance to the temple.

The main temple being prepared for Buddha's birthday. Mind you most temples prohibit taking pictures inside.

And so we returned to our house, but this time via the subway, which ran close to our house. Luckily Tripp knew the way to walk from the subway after we got off it. I should also mention that today was the first day Tripp had ever rode a city bus or a subway.

Everyone fell asleep after the long trip. I too slept too late so no adventure tonight. Tomorrow we leave for Busan via the KTX that travels up to 195 MPH.
